Wellspring Camps Alum Shares Why She Is Happier Than She Has Ever Been!

 

Last year was my junior year and quite honestly it was terrible. I stopped enjoying things I used to love like dance and softball. I searched ways to lose weight…

Through individual and group therapy, I was able to confront and work through my negative body image and low self-esteem. I also learned valuable coping skills and strategies for dealing with stress and emotional eating. And of course, the structured exercise program and healthy meal plan helped me lose weight and feel better physically.

But perhaps the most important thing I gained from Wellspring was a sense of community and support. I met other campers who were going through similar struggles, and we were able to support each other and share our experiences. And the staff at Wellspring were incredible – they were supportive, knowledgeable, and genuinely cared about our well-being.

Now, a year later, I can honestly say that I am happier than I have ever been. I am no longer controlled by food or negative thoughts about my body, and I am able to enjoy life and pursue my passions without feeling held back by my weight. I am grateful every day for the experience I had at Wellspring, and I would recommend it to anyone who is struggling with their weight or body image.
