Apple Oat Bread Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup whole wheat flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 3/4 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar
  • 2 cups rolled oats
  • 6 tbsp unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 1/2 cups buttermilk
  • 1 apple, peeled, cored, and chopped

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F. Grease a 9-inch loaf pan with cooking spray.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, whole wheat flour, baking powder, salt, baking soda, brown sugar, and rolled oats.
  3. In a separate bowl, whisk together the melted butter, egg, and buttermilk.
  4. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and mix until just combined.
  5. Fold in the chopped apple.
  6. Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan.
  7. Bake for 50-60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center of the bread comes out clean.
