At Wellspring Camp La Jolla, we take pride in serving food that changes how people think about a healthful diet. Our food is delicious and our menus are chosen to please even the pickiest eaters. We promise you'll never be hungry because in addition to the entrée served at each meal, you'll have a variety of delicious uncontrolled (unlimited) foods to choose from.


Our food is created to taste a lot like the food you're probably used to eating so that you can transition easily into a low-fat, low-density diet. You can expect to eat family favorites like macaroni and cheese, chicken tenders, pizza, sweet potato fries, and burgers—but all prepared in ways that make them low-fat and "Wellspring-friendly."

Campers eat 3 meals and 2 snacks per day. And instead of restricting all foods and leaving campers hungry - an approach that is not sustainable after campers return home - Wellspring's uncontrolled foods are available at every meal: fat-free yogurts, fresh fruits, vegetables, homemade soups, fat-free cottage cheese, and more.

Culinary and Nutrition Training
Everything we do at Wellspring Camp La Jolla is focused on helping campers learn and live a healthy lifestyle long after camp ends. The more self-sufficient campers can be in terms of choosing and preparing their food, the more successful they are likely to be in the long run. So we teach all campers how to cook, shop for, and order food that will keep them inline with the Wellspring Plan. This is an essential component of our program as it allows campers to feel empowered in their food choices, and allows parents to remove themselves from the role of "food police."
